The Kin are soon releasing their sophomore album - THE UPside. You can pre-order your copy by visiting The Kin's website at http://www.thekin.com/. I had the joy of purchasing a USB version of the album this summer & have been enjoying their tunes ever since and I think it's an incredible collection of songs. My personal favorite is You & I.

Until you get your hands on a copy of the CD, Isaac & Thorry have recently released music videos of the first 6 tracks from the CD on their YouTube page for your viewing & listening pleasure.

Here is my favorite, You & I (Track 4), plus their latest release - Time (Track 6)

ENJOY!!! :)

02 July 2009 @ 11:03 pm

On Monday evening while at a friend's place watching a movie, I got a tweet update from The Kin. Imagine my delight & surprise when I saw this:

It was 6 minutes after their tweet that I saw it so I immediately replied & crossed my fingers that I made it in time. The wait was torture but it must've been just under 10 minutes later that I got a DM!! *squeal* My friends thought I must've going crazy because I was celebrating & dancing in my seat. LOL!

The show was yesterday late afternoon, Wed July 1st. I got there a little early and starting chatting with a woman on line... she was really cool & had been following The Kin for over 1.5 years so she knew a lot about them. When the doors finally opened we went inside & got ourselves seats right in front of the stage. Looking around it seemed that most of the people there were Isaac & Thorry's friends & family. It was a very intimate setting. :)

They took the stage at 5p and played the new songs from their upcoming album - The UPside (being released in September) - for about 45 minutes. Before each song they told us about the inspiration for each song or where they wrote it. The guys shared some funny quips & stories. It made a great show even better! When Isaac announced that they were going to play their last song everyone, especially me, all said awww. I was enjoying the show so much that I didn't want it to ever end.

When the show ended I tripped over chairs & people to get to their friend who was helping them sell the USB version of The UPside. Why was I running? Because there was only 10 of them available!! After I snagged myself the album I got my chance to introduce myself to Isaac. He was so swet & nice to me... even told me that he recognized me from my picture! I don't know if he meant from Twitter or MySpace, but regardless that was really cool! We chatted for a little bit about what they have coming up this summer and how we all want them back on Vamp Radio... or even Dreamers Radio! He seemed really psyched about it so let's hope it happens soon! Before I leaving the venue I hung around while Thorry was chatting with some people. I wasn't about to leave before meeting him too! When I finally got my chance Thorry was incredibly nice... we kinda chatted about the weather! Haha.

Isaac & Thorry are both really nice guys & it was a pleasure meeting them and I am still floating on air from this great opportunity to see them perform in such a nice venue in an intimate setting. I can't wait to see them again!! And they mentioned that their sister may be joining them at some point so that would be extremely wonderful. Looking forward to that as well!

If you've never seen them live before, I highly suggest that you do. They are absolutely incredible!

These pics make me smile :)
